[Class 98 (i)] A series of exposures, for example four, all with different consecutive apertures, are made in rapid succession on cinema film at a single depression of the release button of the camera. The camera is set by winding a spring j<7> for one revolution until pin j<2> abuts against pin h<z>. The action of winding causes slack on film to be wound on to spool M through gears J, j<5>, j<6>, L and friction gear l<2>, m<1>. Gear wheel h<1> is prevented from rotating during winding by a pin k<1> resting in a notch of lever P. Mounted on the wheel h<1> is a ratchet wheel K with, in this instance, four steps or teeth. Upon the release of the pin k<1> by actuation of the button D, the wheel h<1> is rotated by the spring actuating through gearing and a centrifugal governor n2, a wheel N operating a claw mechanism n<3> for moving the film onwards in steps. As the wheel h<1> turns, the ratchet K moves a lever k<2> to trip the shutter four times in the course of its one revolution. The shutter R, Fig. 4, is shown as of a twobladed type operated through a lever r<3> and a two armed lever r<2>, r<4> of which one arm r<4> moves a disc S bearing four apertures so that each is in position in turn before the other arm r<2> trips the shutter mechanism. In a modification, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), an iris diaphragm is operated by a ratchet in steps over one of a series of ranges to alter the aperture for each exposure.
