[Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] The outside and interior concrete walls of a house are cast in situ and are formed with horizontal grooves, recesses or holes adapted to provide supporting surfaces for the floors which are subsequently cast in situ. For forming grooves, removable wooden planks may be employed and such planks may carry bars which become partially embedded in the wall and which have free portions adapted to be bent outwards and to extend into the floor when the latter is cast. The wall shuttering may comprise outer boards 12, 13 and inner boards 18, 19. The outer boards are interconnected at the corner of the building by angle-brackets 17 attached to the top and bottom edges of the boards 12 and connected to a channel-bar 15 by bolts passing above and below the boards 13. The inner boards do not extend to the corner, the gaps being filled by a board 20 and boards 21. The latter are held in position by a board 24, which is held in place by an angle bar 25. The shuttering is provided with distance-pieces 27 through which pass bolts 26, the latter being tightened by means of wedges which are slotted to pass into grooves formed near one end of each bolt. The shuttering may consist of iron plates strengthened by vertical and horizontal ribs and may be suspended by chains which pass over pulleys carried by an overhead beam. This beam may be carried by scaffolding or, alternatively, it may be supported by members attached to a lower part of the wall. In the latter case, scaffolding is dispensed with and the shuttering is fitted with suitable platforms for the workmen.
