494,598. Fire-extinguishing. STERLING METALS, Ltd., and GOODWIN, H. June 17, 1937, No. 16852. [Class 47 (ii)] A fire-extinguishing material consists of loose asbestos fibres mixed with powdered graphite or siliceous material and/or with a powdered, easily-fusible, substance which does not burn or decompose under normal fire conditions, such as anhydrous magnesium chloride, with which may be mixed a smaller percentage of calcium fluoride, potassium chloride, or carnallite. The materials, either mixed or in separate layers, may be put up in waterproof bags in a metal container with an easily-removable lid, within which a mixture of precipitated chalk with sodium bicarbonate, or carbon-tetrachloride in a frangible vessel, may also be contained.
