Abstract

492,861. Drink mixers. OSIUS, F. J. Feb. 1, 1938, No. 3131. Convention date, March 13, 1937. [Class 86] A drink mixer comprises a base enclosing a motor on which a vessel containing a mixing vane can be placed, the vessel having a lobed shape in horizontal section and being carried by a member the turning of which operates a switch for the motor. The vessel 24 is formed of lobes 43 of semi-cylindrical form and contains mixing vanes 36, 37 the former of which are in a horizontal plane and have sharpened leading edges to effect the disintegration of fruits or vegetables, while the latter project upwards and effect a swirling motion of the contents. The vanes are carried on a spindle which projects through a bearing 29 and is coupled to the shaft of a motor 11 controlled by a switch 15 operated by members 18 depending from the vessel support 16. The latter is provided with upstanding members 17 engaging the side of the vessel.
