[Class 54] In a gas meter in which the diaphragm plate 4 swings between two inclined end positions the leather or flexible surround 3 is cut to a varying width so as to form a truncated cone or pyramid without folds in the end positions. The diaphragm may be supported by a linkage 5, 6 attached above or below its centre of gravity.
