[Class 3 (i)] [Also in Group XIX] An indicator wheel for a cash register comprises a series of overlapping, arcuate plates 11 each bearing a numeral or other character and supported by arms 10 that are capable of limited movement about pivots 9 mounted on the hub of the wheel parallel to the wheel axis, means being provided for moving out of obscuring position the plate which is adjacent to, and partially overlaps, the plate which is in position for reading. The plates are held in the normal position shown, by springs 19 that urge the plates clockwise about their pivots and cause the arms 10 to abut studs 15 projecting from arms of the hub. The wheel is set in usual manner to present a selected plate at a reading aperture 3 closed by a shutter 20. Upon the subsequent lowering of the shutter, lugs 23 thereon abut the upper edge of the plate that partially obscures the selected plate and rocks it against the action of its spring to expose the whole area of the selected plate.
