Abstract
490,877. Nonconducting coverings for heat. EDWARDS, A. E. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Maatschappij tot Beheer en Exploitatie van Octrooien) Aug. 30, 1937, No. 23672. [Class 64 (ii)] Heat insulation comprises glass or similar fibres coated with a powdered substance adhering thereto, to prevent heat transmission by direct radiation from fibres to fibres. The coating may be a strongly reflecting substance, transparent to heat rays such as powdered calcium fluoride, or merely absorbent to heat rays such as soot, red iron oxide or bentonite. Any suitable adhesive may be used to unite the powdered material to the fibres.
