Abstract

487,209. Brooms. MENZ, (nÚe LORKE), A. Dec. 17, 1937, No. 34979. [Class 19] Rubber brooms are composed of sponge rubber strips 1, Fig. 1, with wedge shaped portions 2 removed by stamping leaving pronged members 4, the length of the prongs being about two thirds the height of the strips. The pronged members 4, Fig. 5, are stuck together with interposed prongless members 5 to form a broom. The prongs of the middle strip are opposite cut out portions of the two outer strips so that the broom covers the whole of a surface. The rubber strips are secured by pins 7 clipped at 9 to a broom stock.
