Abstract

486,227. Skein holders. HOLMES, H. K. Feb. 11, 1937, No. 4132. [Class 120 (ii)] A skein - holding device comprises a longitudinal member 1 arranged for rotation and carrying a pair of cross-members 6, 8 adjustable thereon, the ends of the members 6, 8 being formed with skein-holding parts 10 simulating thumb and finger pieces. As shown each port 10 is formed with an outwardlydirected concavity 12 forming a thumb part and having a more or less horizontal part 13 merging into the cross member and forming the finger part ; the parts 10 may be replaced by pegs or pins. The cross-members may be curved and are formed with slots 2 along which the members 6, 8 are adjustably secured by bolts 5 and wing nuts 9. The member 1 is formed of two or more parts detachably screwed to a block 15 and the member 1 and block 15 are provided with a drilling 16 by which the device is rotatably mounted on a pin 17 projecting from a block 18 which is clamped by a cramp 19 to a table or other support or the pins may be provided on the cramp; a second pin 21 may be provided at right-angles to the pin 17 so as to enable the device to be clamped to a vertical support and the pins may be arranged on the cramp.
