486,167. Making aluminium bottle capsules. HELWERT, G., and BRUCHNER, (nÚe HERRNBERGER), M. May 3, 1937, No. 12610. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] An ornamental or protective preshaped bottle capsule made of aluminium has a drawn lateral wall which is appreciably thinner than the end wall. The drawn lateral wall may taper in thickness from the end wall to the open end. The end wall may be 0À15 mm. thick and the drawn lateral wall 0À04 mm. to 0À075 mm. thick, e.g. 0À06 mm. The cap is pressed into capsule shape from a circular disc of soft annealed aluminium, the pressing being performed without appreciable alteration in the thickness, the lateral wall is drawn out over a spindle by means of drawing rollers, and the capsule is finally softened by annealing.
