Abstract
483,788. Screw-nails. BECHERT & CO., DRAHTSTIFTE-, SCHRAUBENUND STAHLINDUSTRIE-AKT.-GES., and MEERSTEINER, J. June 18, 1937, No. 17031. Convention date, June 27, 1936. [Class 89 (ii)] The outer surface of a screwnail is subdivided into projections 5 similar to self-cutting threads on a screw and the bases of these projections are arranged at the intersection of helical lines 6, 7, the one, 6, of them having a steep pitch in the axial direction and the other 7 the course of ordinary pitched threads. The nail is knocked into a prepared bore and given a small turn to compel the projections to cut into the material lying between the steep pitched grooves formed in the side of the hole by the nail. The projections may be regular pyramids with their points displaced relatively to the centres of their bases.
