Abstract

482,620. Venetian - blind shutters for photographic cameras. STRINGER, H. B. Dec. 14, 1936, No. 34239. [Class 98 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A venetian-blind shutter comprises a number of strips 1 at or near the longitudinal edges of which are formed corrugations 2, 3 of two different widths so that when the shutter is in the closed position with the strips overlapping a narrow corrugation 2 on one strip enters a broad corrugation 3 on the adjacent strip. The wide corrugation 3 may conveniently have a flat bed 4. Metal blocks 5, 6 are secured on opposite sides of the strips to provide for pivoting and stiffening very thin strips. A short arm 9 projects from each block 5 through the strip 1 and the block 6 in order to coact with the operating member of the shutter. In the construction where half the blades turn one way and half the other way, the central strip has two wide corrugations. Specifications 213,018, [Class 98 (i)], 365,224, and 383,224, are referred to.
