Abstract
480,614. Boxes, travelling-bags, &c. BELLAU, H. Sept. 1, 1936, No. 23973. [Classes 18 and 133] A portable container such as a shopping- bag, travelling-bag, fitted case, cigarette case, tobacco pouch, shopping - basket, handbag, pouch or purse consists of sides a and bottom and gusseted ends preferably wider at the top than at the bottom, shell-like closure members c, d being hinged to the base. The bottom also may be gusseted. Wood or metal stiffeners i may be provided, or frames or various kinds may be incorporated. The ends of the main receptacle may be omitted, and, in a further form, the sides a may be connected to the ends c, d by gussets, and the ends may be connected by a snap fastener. When used for cigarettes the article may be of metal and springs may be employed which urge the closure members into open position. The material may also be leather, canvas or other fabric such as rubberized fabric, artificial leather cloth, rubber or synthetic material. A mirror and loops for holding contents may also be incorporated.
