Abstract
The thickness of metal coatings is determined by clamping the sample e at a predetermined distance below a jet b through which a corroding liquid flows from a constant head supply a, and measuring either the time of flow or the quantity of liquid passed at the moment when the coating is seen to be penetrated. The Specification gives several examples of corrosive liquids suitable for testing coatings of nickel, copper, bronze, cadmium, zinc, &c., on steel, copper, brass, aluminium, zinc, nickel, &c. <PICT:0476876/III/1>
