elektrischen Vakuumgefäßn Zum Prüfen der Dichtheit der Wandung von elektrischen
Vakuumgefäßen wurde bereits ein chemisches Verfahren vorgeschlagen, das darin besteht,
daß auf die Gefäßwand ein Stoff aufgebracht wird, der mit bestimmten Gasen, die
in das Gefäßinnere eingepumpt rrerden, unter Veränderung seiner Farbe reagiert,
so daß man an diesen Farbänderungen Undichtheiten erkennen kann. Das Auf. bringen
des reaktionsfähigen chemischen Stoffes ist einerseits mühsam, andererseits muß
heim Arbeiten mit den in Frage kommenden Stoffen Vorsicht angewendet werden, damit
nicht die mit der Prüfung der Gefäße beschäftinten Personen gesundheitlich geschädigt
werden. Eine weitere Möglichkeit zur Unter sucllung der Dichtheit von Vakuumgefäßen
besteht im Aufstreichen von Seifenwasser auf die Wand, wobei sich an den undichten
Stel. len der Wand Seifenblasen bilden. Dieses Verfahren ist nicht einfach durchzuführen,
und es macht gewisse Schwierigkeiten, kleine Undichtheiten zu erkennen, Das Verfahren
nach der Erfindung ermöglicht eine einwandfreie Prüfung der Vakuumgefäße auf ihre
Dichtheit. ohne irgendwelche Schwierigkeiten. Erfindungsgemäß wird zunächst das
zu prüfende Gefäß in destilliertes Wasser eingetaucht und mit einem das Wandungsmaterial
des Gefäßes nicht oder nur wenig angreifen den Gas gefüllt. Während des Einfüllens
oder nach dem Einfüllen des Gases wird die Leitfähigkeit des Wassers in der Nähe
der Gefäßwand zwecks Feststellung undichter Wandungsstellen überprüft. Das Gas,
welches erfindungsgemäß in das Gefäß mit einem gewissen Überdruck, vorzugsweise
von etwa 2 bis 3 Atm., eingepumpt wird, soll erfindungsgemßä so beschaffen sein,
daß es beim Eindringen in das destilliterte Wasser dessen Leitfähigkeit merklich
beeinflußt und daß es andererseits die in einem Gleichri, chtergefäß vornehmlich
vorhandenen Stoffe, nämlich Eisen. Graphit, Quecksilber, Porzellan. Glas, nicht
chemisch angreift. Am besten cignet sich für diese Zwecke das Am
moniakgas.
Die Messung der Leitfähigkeit von aus einem durch Seewasser gekühlten Kondensator
entnommenen Wasserproben zu dem Zwecke, aus der vom Salzgehalt abhängi gen Leitfähigkeit

Wie die Sonde ausgebildet sein kann, zeigt Fig. 2. In dieser Figur ist die Ge.fäßwand
