Abstract

476,289. Wireless directive signalling. PARISIER, M., and SOC. DES ETABLISSEMENTS HENRY - LEPAUTE. June 25, 1937, No. 17763. Convention date, June 26, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] To prevent interruptions or strong modulations in a transmission from giving false signals on a radiogoniometer, two pick-ups, mounted at an angle to each other, are rotated together, the second pick-up affecting the indicating instrument only when the signal transmission is interrupted. As shown, the search. coil C1 is rotated and the rotating lamp N is arranged to flash when no e.m.f. is induced in coil C1. The rotating frame C2, which is mounted at an angle to Cl, is connected to give a negative potential difference in valve T when no current is induced in the coil. Consequently during normal operation pick-up C2 has no effect on the system and the flashing of lamp N indicates the direction of the transmitter. If however the transmission is interrupted, the two coils affect valve T at the same time and act in opposition so that no current flows in the indicating circuit and a false signal is not given by lamp N.
