[Class 81 (ii)] An appliance for introducing, into the vagina or anus, liquid, viscous, or powdered medicines, or capsules or pills, comprises a cylinder 1 of paper, celluloid, rubber, or other flexible material containing the medicament and closed at its forward end by bending or contracting the edges towards the axis, the rear end housing a plug 5, which may be of the same material as the cylinder. As shown, the forward end is formed with deep serrations 2 which are bent inwardly to form the closure and is covered by a cap 4 preferably of the same material as the cylinder. Alternatively, the end may be closed by twisting about its axis. In use, the appliance is inserted and the contents ejected by pressure on the plug with a small rod, the closure opening under the pressure produced. The plug may be provided with means for displacing it.
