[Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] A substantially closed flexible garment adapted to embrace a body region has within it an entrance compartment separated from the space surrounding the body by a partition having unobstructed perforations distributed thereover, heated or cooled gas being delivered to the entrance compartment from an external source by a duct to produce a distributed delivery through the perforations into the space enclosed by the garment. The garment may comprise a pair of drawers, Figs. 2 and 3, closed by slide fasteners 8 and by draw strings at the open ends. Each drawer element has a hollow sole 9 comprising plates 10, 11 surrounded by a wall forming an entrance compartment. Air is drawn by a fan over an electric heater and delivered to the hollow soles by means of flexible ducts 20, 18 connected by a T-piece 21, thus permitting limited leg movement. Each plate 11 is perforated, for example, adjacent its edge, to direct the hot air around the foot and leg. The fasteners 8 may be retracted to form air vents. In an alternative form, both legs are encased in a single sheath. A similar garment for treating an arm is described, an air vent being provided near the shoulder and having a flap to direct air away from the face. A garment for treating the chest and shoulders, Fig. 13, is in the form of a shortened jersey. A connector 51 for attaching an air duct is provided on one sleeve and a perforated inner wall 50, stitched around its edge to the inner side of the sleeve, forms the entrance compartment. The garment 53, Fig. 14, has a double-walled entrance compartment 58 inserted into the rear of it, and draw strings 61 are attached at spaced points leaving slack between them so that the garment is away from the body in the region of the spine and provides a channel for passage of the gas.
