[Class 126] An oven door is mounted so that it can be swung down about a hinge near its lower edge, or be slid down in its own plane to a position where it will remain, as shown in Fig. 5. A rod 2 attached to the oven casing passes through slots 4 at the sides of the door 1. An articulated parallelogram 7 mounted inside the door abuts against the upper edge of the door and against the rod 2, and under the action of a spring 11 applies a force to the upper edge of the door sufficient to hold the door in the position to which it is slid.
