[Class 87 (i)] Wall-covering plates each comprising two superposed plates of nailable material are characterized in that the under plates 11 are provided on two opposite edges with a plurality of rectangular recesses 4, 6 and projecting ledges or flaps 3, 5, whilst of the other edges one 2 projects beyond, and the other is set back from, the corresponding edge of the upper plate 1, and the dimensions of the recesses 6 and the set back are greater than the dimensions of the flaps 5 and the projecting edge respectively, so that when the upper plates are abutted edge to edge, communicating channels for ventilation are left between the edges of the lower plates.
