Abstract

473,573. Boxes into which bottles can be delivered. MURDOCH, W. Oct. 17, 1936, No. 28320. [Class 18] A box attached to a house-door frame and into which a bottle can be delivered has an opening in the lid, and as the bottle is inserted through this opening it strikes the lower, part of a lever B pivoted at A between uprights D, and the hookshaped upper end of the lever swings over the top of the bottle and prevents it being withdrawn. The lower end of the lever passes through a false floor in the box and is hinged to a loose bar R so that, as the lever swings back on the insertion of a bottle, the bar R is pulled off the top of a block M and drops down to abut against the side face of the block. This prevents the lever B from being moved by an unauthorized person to uncover the bottle and access to the latter is obtained by resetting the bar R through a hole O. The box slides on to a bracket on the door frame and the door closes against that side of the box containing the hole O.
