Abstract

472,704. Brackets for supporting floor shuttering. DIESPEKER & CO., Ltd., and CHATWIN, A. S. April 17, 1936, No. 11051. [Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] Shuttering for use in casting concrete floors in situ is supported on cross bearers carried by brackets fixed either to the wall or to supports suspended from the floor reinforcing beams. The bracket is formed in two adjustable portions, the main portion 1, Fig. 4, being formed with a rear projection 1d for engaging with a hole formed between courses of bricks in a wall, and with an undercut recess at its upper portion to receive the auxiliary portion 2, which is provided with apertures 2d and an apertured thickened portion 2b, to which the end. of the cross supporting beam 5 is fixed. The bracket portions also carry forwardly projecting seats 1b and 2a, respectively, between which wedges are placed to position the parts in adjusted positions, the seat 2a being adapted to support a longitudinal supporting-bar 9 disposed immediately beneath the end of the cross-bar. In place of the wedges a screw adjusted 15, Fig. 7, may be used between the projecting seats, and the rearwardly projecting part 1d of the main portion may be formed by a detachable angle-piece 1h passing through a slot 1f provided in the main portion. The lower end 1c of the main member may be bifurcated and bearing portions 1e are provided on the lower and upper ends of the main member. When used with the reinforcement of the concrete floors, the auxiliary bracket member 2 may be used alone, as shown in Fig. 5, secured by bolts 12 to supporting strips 11 suspended from the reinforcing bars 10, or alternatively the main member 1 may be provided with apertures for the reception of bolts securing it to the strips 11, and the auxiliary member 2 may be screw adjusted on the main member.
