Abstract

472,471. Transferring and revaporizing liquefied gases. LINDE AIR PRODUCTS CO. Jan. 23, 1936, No. 2145. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1935. [Classes 8 (ii) and 102 (ii)] Liquefied oxygen, hydrocarbon, &c. is transferred from a supply vessel through vessels 40, 44 at successively increasing pressures to a vaporizing receiver 48 which supplies the resulting gas to consumers ; the transfer from the vessel 44 to the receiver is assisted by withdrawing a part of the liquid which is heated and circulated thermosiphonically in a heater 60, the resulting gas being caused to exert pressure on the liquid in the vessel 44 ; residual gas in this vessel is transferred to the previous vessel 40 where it is condensed by the liquid therein. Two sets of vessels may be arranged in parallel and used alternately to give a continuous supply ; the pressures in a pair of parallel vessels may be equalized and the gas remaining in a vessel just emptied thereby condensed ; a byepass allows gas from the heater 60 to pass direct to the gas discharge pipe 49. A vessel from which gas or liquid may be drawn may be connected to the pipe 66 leading from the vessel 44 to the heater 60. Specifications 307,070, [Class 8 (ii)], and 465,043 are referred to.
