470,270. Stiffening wearing-apparel. KOSUT, L. Feb. 12, 1936, No. 4214. Convention date, March 7, 1935. Drawings to Specification. [Class 141] A washable article of wearing-apparel, e.g. a collar, cuff, shirt band, or shirt front, has sewn thereto a lining or insertions of a sheet material, e.g. a textile material or paper, which has been impregnated with a material, e.g. an insoluble glue or gum, so as to be capable of becoming soft in water but stiff when dried or ironed. The sheet material may also be impregnated with a substance such as caoutchouc. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also impregnating the sheet material with stearin, paraffin, wax, or liquid cellulose derivatives, instead of with caoutchouc. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
