Abstract

468,824. Vehicle bodies and spring- suspensions. BUGATTI, J. Dec. 12, 1936, No. 34201. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1935. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] A vehicle body consists of two stamped side panels and a single metal band suitably shaped and bent and adapted to connect the side panels together. As shown, the two lateral stampings 1, 2 are connected to the single band portion 3 by means of out-turned ribs 4 which are welded together and also serve for stiffening the body. The wheels 6 are mounted in a recess 5 which may be provided with a removable plate in continuation of the outer surface'of the panel. The wheel 6, which is a steering wheel is carried by a stub axle 8 having a sleeve portion 9 mounted under spring control on a rod 10 carried by a bracket 11 from the panel 1 or 2.
