468,598. Advertising-models. FRENCH, W. J., and BRITISH COLOUR PRINTING CO., Ltd. Oct. 22, 1936, No. 28741. [Class 3 (ii)] An advertising - model comprises a solid body shaped to represent an article and composed of transparent material which is the same as or is so treated as to represent the material of which the article is made, the body showing the article as it would appear in perspective and being superimposed upon a suitably coloured surface or representation. In the embodiment shown in which flowers in a glass vase are simulated, the parts of the backing 1 behind the glass body 2 shaped to represent the vase, are treated to produce the appearance of flower stems in water. Coloured gelatine or other material may be applied to parts of the rear surface of the body 2 for decorative purposes. In a further embodiment, an opening, which may be covered with coloured transparent or translucent material, is formed in the backing behind the glass body to permit the passage of light, the coloured representation being secured on the rear face of the body. Shallow cavities or recesses may be formed in the back of the glass body to provide decorative effects.
