Abstract

<PICT:0466391/III/1> Apparatus for determining two different constituents of a gas mixture comprises two electric conductors 4, 5 surrounded by different catalysts acting selectively on the respective constituents to produce exothermic reactions, the conductors being arranged in a Wheatstone bridge for comparison of their resistances. The catalysts are applied to porous tube surrounding the conductors according to the parent Specification. The gas under test is first passed through cell 6 surrounding conductor 4 in order to determine the constituents reacting to the catalyst in that cell, while conductor 6 acts as a standard of comparison. Three-way cock 10 is then operated to divert the gas through cell 7 for determination of constituents reacting to the catalyst surrounding conductor 6, while conductor 4 serves as the standard. The galvanometer 2 is connected across the bridge through a change-over switch 19.
