Abstract

A composition for moulding into grinding wheels for dental use is formed of powdered glass with both inorganic and organic binders, consisting in an example of powdered glass with 15 to 30 per cent of sodium silicate and 1/2 to 5 per cent of gum lac. The wheel after moulding is baked, the organic binder, which holds the mass together before baking, being destroyed. Colouring matter may be added to distinguish wheels of different grades used for coarse and fine grinding.
