465,947. Displaying. DASI, E. M. Oct. 18, 1935, No. 28798. [Class 3 (i)] A body 31 is caused co rotate about an external axis in front of a circular mirror or other sheet of material 21 having a uniform surface, and also about its own axis. In the form shown, the body 31 comprises a circular table for supporting goods and its rotation about its own horizontal axis is at the same rate, but in the opposite direction, to its rotation about an external axis parallel to its own and coinciding with the centre of the mirror, the table top thus remaining horizontal throughout its motion. The mechanism comprises a motor 45, in the base 1, which through a spindle 2, bevel wheels 4, 5 and friction wheel 7 drives a circular frame 15 carrying the circular mirror 21 by means of adjustable clips 18. A stationary pinion 16 on the stationary shaft of the frame 15 gears with wheels 24 and 29 mounted on the frame spokes, the pinion, 29 being fixed on a sleeve 28 passing through a hole in the mirror and adapted to be clamped by screws 38 to the table 31. Journalled in the table, and passing through the sleeve 28, is a spindle 26 fixed to the frame spoke, and carrying a bevel wheel 44 engaging a similar wheel 35 whereby the table cover and base 39 rotate as the table travels around in front of the mirror. The mirror edge is concealed by a rim 41 on a rear cover 40 held by a nut 46 to the frame shaft, and the whole of the upper part of the device is carried by a bracket 8 turmshed with pins 9 fitting into the gear-box 3, an adjusting screw being provided to bring the edge of the frame 15 into contact with the wheel 7. A counterweight is provided in the frame 15 to balance the gear wheels 24, 29, the table 31, &c. Several bodies 31 may be provided for the one rotating sheet 21.
