[Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group VI] In a slicing-machine, the reciprocating assembly is provided with unitary part-circular bearings 10 having tapered ends which are engaged by correspondingly tapered stirrups 11, approximately of horse-shoe shape, the stirrups being secured to the bearings 10 by screws which are tightened to contract the bearings. The space or slit need not extend from end to end of the bearing, in which case a portion of the bearing completely encircles the bar.
