Abstract

380,073. Mowing &c. machines. HARRISON, T. D. and DREW, W., Albion Iron Works, Leigh, Lancashire. Feb. 28, 1931, No. 6279. [Class 6 (iii).] The rear portion 11 of each finger 7 is cut away or formed with a step 12 to receive a separate hardened steel bearing plate 13 for the knife-bar. The knife-bar reciprocates on the front portion 13a which is formed with the usual groove 13b. The rear portion is of less thickness than the front portion and extends below the finger-bar so that it lies between the finger-bar and the rear part of the finger. The bearing plate is thus secured in position in the operation of securing the finger to the fingerbar.
