Abstract

465,178. Valves. ROBINSON & CO. (LIVERPOOL), Ltd., J. H., and FOX, T. Nov. 6, 1935, No. 30646. [Class 135] A valve member, particularly for use with gas meters, comprises a dished cover 14 to which is secured a rigid perforated disc 16 and a washer 18 of flexible material such as leather for cooperation with a seat 13. The space within the cover 14 serves as a reservoir for a lubricant which is fed gradually through the perforations 22 in the disc 16 to the washer 18 to keep it in a moist and pliable condition. The washer 18 may have a canvas or linen inner face or may be backed by a layer of felt wadding 24. The valve member is secured to a bracket 20 which is carried by an actuating shaft 21.
