Abstract

465,099. Preparing fuel. POURBAIX, M. July 30, 1935, No. 21590. [Class 50] Incandescent coke is impregnated with a solution or suspension of one or more of the oxides or hydroxides of Ca, Ba, Sr, V, Zn, Mg, Be, Li. The fuel may be de-gassed before or during the treatment which may be effected by spraying the products on to the stirred mass. In an example, 1 kg. of Ba(OH)2 in solution is sprayed on 1000 kg. of coke upon leaving the oven.
