Abstract

464,234. Calculating - apparatus. SIMON, F. April 29, 1936, No. 12163. [Class 106 (i)] A device for computing results in terms of percentage relations comprises two relatively movable parts each bearing a logarithmic basic scale and one part bearing at least one result scale directly expressing the percentage relation of any two numbers aligned on the basic scales. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the device consists of two discs a, b and may be provided with a third slidable part in the form of a marginal ring c. The disc a has a basic logarithmic scale d and two results scales f, g viewable through apertures I, III and IV in the ring c and disc b respectively. The basic logarithmic scale e on the disc b is viewable through an aperture II in the ring c. In a modification, additional scales may be provided to facilitate calculations involving systems of currency.
