Abstract
463,523. Chain pumps. DEAN, E. June 30, 1936, No. 18061. [Class 102 (ii)] In a pump of the type in which liquid is raised from a reservoir O<1> to a reservoir I by a chain C<1>, the chain passes through tubes J, I<1>, which extend into the upper reservoir. The chain passes round an upper sprocket D on a driving spindle G<1> and round a lower sprocket D<1>, loosely mounted on a spindle M, which, together with the tubes J, I<1> is carried by a casting L. A driving pulley loosely mounted on the spindle G<1> can be moved axially, by means of a fork E <1> and lever E, in order to engage pegs on the pulley with a disc on the spindle G<1>.
