[Class 7 (iii)] A throttle for an aircraft engine is formed in two parts the inner part, such as a flat disc, being opened before the outer part 4, which may be a flat ring, to provide sensitive control for the engine on or near the ground. The outer part 4 may have a combined hand and automatic control abutments which can be disengaged being provided to permit the automatic control to be overridden, during starting for example, and both parts to be opened on the ground. An idling byepass is formed through the thickness of the outer part 4 to the slit between the parts.
