Abstract
462,317. Gas-lighters. LANGE, C. G. Sept. 6, 1935, No. 24872. [Class 75 (iii)] An electric gas-lighter comprises a casing 1, 2 of insulating mouldable material, such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," for containing a battery and having projecting therefrom a metal tube 3 surrounding a lead 8 from a contact 9, engaging one pole of the battery, to a filament in a housing 4, screwed to the end of the tube, the circuit being completed through the tube 3, and a metal washer 11 adapted, on pressing a button 13, to be engaged by the upper end of a metal strip 12 formed at its lower end into a spring contact 14 engaging the other pole of the battery. The contact 9 may be a spring-plunger, as shown, or a solid member. The lighter can be suspended by a metal ring 16 hinged to a metal strip 15 within a recess 17.
