Abstract
461,731. Gas valves. BUTZKE-BERNHARD JOSEPH AKT.-GES., F., and DEHN, F. B. July 10, 1936, No. 19187. Addition to 432,779. [Class 135] In the liquid-pressure controlled gas valve assembly for liquid heaters according to the parent Specification, the additional liquid valve, which controls the main gas valve after the main liquid tap has been turned on, is controlled by a thermal device in which the additional liquid valve 4, the heat sensitive element 6 of the device, and the pilot burner 8 are mounted in a common housing 2. This housing has a valve chamber 3 with concentric liquid supply and discharge conduits 1, 1a respectively and a chamber 5 housing a bimetallic spring 6 carried on a holder 7. The spring 6 is coupled by a lever 13 to a slide valve 4 movable over the reduced end of the conduit 1a up to a stop 11. The flame of the pilot burner 8 lies substantially in the chamber 5 and its air of combustion is ensured by a passage 10. Liquid pressure presses an elastic disc 14 with a boss 15 against a partition 16 and into sealing engagement with the lever 13.
