Abstract
461,135. Moulds for concrete kerbstones &c. CRABTREE, Ltd., S., and CAWTHORN, C. G. Aug. 9, 1935, No. 22469. [Class 87 (ii)] In moulds, such as for concrete kerbs, comprising an open-topped body part 4 and removable ends 5, 6, means are provided for securing the ends, comprising a bifurcated or U-shaped member 7 embracing the mould and having a cross-bar 8 mounted on its free ends. The cross-bar 8 is retained by springs 11 mounted between it and washers 9 secured by nuts 10 or other stops. The closed end of the member 7 may engage notches 12a in ramps 12 on the end 5. Stops 13 are provided on the end 6 to support the cross-bar 8. In use, the member 7 is placed around the mould and pressed down until the bar 8 abuts against the stops 13 and the closed end is then snapped into the notches 12<a>. The member may be removed by a wedging tool. The mould sides may be strengthened by angle bars 14, 16, the former being just below the upper edges which serve as scraping edges for levelling concrete in the mould.
