Abstract
460,800. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. MORGAN CRUCIBLE CO., Ltd., PERRY, R. J., and WIGGS, A. E. Nov. 6, 1935, Nos. 30701/35, 316/36, and 28704/36. [Class 35] Voids or channels are produced in carbon brushes during the course of manufacture. These may be disposed at random or may extend from face to face in the brush. The voids may be formed by carbonizing fabric embedded in the carbon or metal insertions may be caused to shrink or disappear by volatilizing them or by treating them with a chemical reagent.
