Abstract
460,642. Wireless signalling. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DES PROCEDES W. A. LOTH. April 23, 1935, No. 12221. Void. Convention date, Sept. 5, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] For aiding navigation, a network of radio buoys or beacons is provided spaced over a territory to produce overlapping beams each of which carries a distinctive modulation produced phonographically. The beacons preferably all use the same wavelength which is less than ten metres, the signal being in Morse code or telephony. The signals may give the name of the place, if necessary in cipher. The signals from neighbouring beacons may be timed by synchronous motors so that they are never emitted simultaneously or they may be brought into operation by a signal from the craft desiring to use them.
