Abstract
460,323. Magnifying - glasses. KERSHAW, N., KERSHAW, C., and SOHO, Ltd. Nov. 6, 1935, No. 30634. [Class 97 (i)] In a magnifying-glass comprising a single lens mounted in a frame having a handle, the handle is adapted to be collapsed or folded into a position alongside the edge of the lens or within the side or sides of the frame. The lens 1 is mounted between two rings 2 each having a broad flange 2x of such thickness that a channel is formed between the flanges. The handle 3 is formed in two parts which are pivoted between the flanges at 4, 4 so that when folded about their pivots they enter the channels between the flanges 2x, as in Fig. 2. The handle parts are retained in alignment when in their open position by a tongue-and-slot connection 3x.
