Abstract

459,852. Money-delivering apparatus. FRANCOTTE, R., 47, Rue Locquenghien, Brussels. July 12, 1935, Nos. 19987, 19988, and 19990. Convention dates, July 13, 1934, April 6, 1935, and June 20, 1935. [Class 27] Mechanism for discharging coins from a series of tubes 1 supported on a common plate 6 comprises, for each tube, a carriage 3 running by means of rollers 9, 10 along the underside of the plate 6 under the control of a key lever 13, there being pivoted to the carriage an ejector dog 7 and a stop dog 34, passing through a slot in the plate 6 for oppositely engaging the coin being ejected. The key 13 is connected by a link 14 to an operating lever 11 carried by a common shaft 12, the lever 11 having a pin-and-slot connection with the carriage 3, and being directly connected with the key lever 13 by a restoring spring 22. The ejector dog 7 is normally retracted by a spring 8, but during the forward movement of the carriage 3, it is raised into a position to engage behind a coin by engagement of a slotted cam 19, on an arm 18 secured to the lever 11, with an abutment on the dog 7. Simultaneously, the stop dog 34 is raised by direct action of the upper end of the lever 11, but is retracted to release the coin at the completion of the stroke of the carriage 3. A shutter 26 for the discharge opening of the tube 1 is raised to permit ejection of the coin by movement of a sliding rod 28 connected with the hub of the lever 11. Alternatively, a simple spring-actuated ball may close the discharge opening. Adjustable screws 36, 37 in the walls of the tubes 1 relieve the ejector mechanism of part of the weight of the coin stacks. The tubes 1 may be adjustable for different sized coins, and constructed of side plates 38, 39, Fig. 2, secured by screws 46 to a slotted frame plate 45, their separation being determined by interchangeable elements 36 of various widths. Pivoted to the upper ends of the adjustable plates 38 and 39 are flaps 58 and 59, Fig. 5, forming the side walls of filling funnels. The fronts of the tubes may be closed by a glass plate 44, and they may be provided as a removable unit having projecting pins 53, 54, Fig. 4, for accurate attachment to side frames 50 of the apparatus. The cover 67, Fig. 7, of the tube filling funnels, the glass cover 44 of the tube, and a cover 72 for the lower part of the apparatus are respectively locked in closed position by levers 69, 70, and 73 controlled by a bar 71 operated by a spring-actuated crank lever 62 which itself locks the ejector operating levers 11 ; the locking action being removed by withdrawal of a locked drawer 66 having an abutment 61 engaging the lever 62. Ejected coins pass down an adjustably inclined shoot to a receptacle 106, Fig. 12, where they can be examined through a glazed opening, and finally discharged to a tray 105 by lowering of a pivoted trap 107. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also other forms of coin ejector mechanism, a modified construction of coin magazine having coin tubes interchangeable with others of different sizes, and also a cylindrical coin container insertable into the funnels of the coin tubes 1 of the apparatus for refilling them. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Testing coins.-The apparatus is provided with a coin testing device comprising an inclined shoot by means of which a coin can be dropped from a fixed height on to an insulated sounding slab of marble.
