Abstract
459,358. Washing dishes. WESTER, K. R., 12, Bergsvõgen, Bromsten, Sweden. June 4. 1935, No. 16071. Convention date, June 4, 1934. [Class 138 (i)] Relates to dish-washing apparatus of the kind in which the casing of the machine is opened at the side for the introduction and removal of work, and consists in a casing comprising an outer and inner jacket, at least the latter being provided with an opening, the outer jacket having an open top so that all parts of the top of the inner jacket are accessible for cleaning. In one form, a cylinder 4 is secured to a ring 3 resting in an opening in a table 1, the bottom of the cylinder forming a receptacle for washing water supplied by a nozzle 23 so positioned that the incoming water flushes the side of the cylinder. The washing apparatus is of known form comprising an electric motor 16 driving a pump 15 supplying nozzles 12, subsequent flushing being effected by sprinklers 17 supplied with hot water by a valve 22 having an operating handle 20 above the inner cylinder. Preferably, an electric switch for the motor is also actuated by this handle. Openings 9 in the upper part of the cylinder 4 are, normally, closed by an outer cylinder 6, the lower edge of which rests in the ring 3. This cylinder may be turned to align openings 8, 9 so that a work basket resting on rails 11 may be exchanged. The groove in the ring 3 is drained by tubes 25, a partial vacuum being maintained in the lower part of the cylinder 4 when the pump is working. A cover 31 is provided for the outer cylinder. In a modification, the outer cylinder may be raised to expose the openings 9. In another modification, the openings may be situated only in adjacent quadrants of the circumference of the cylindrical jackets. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a modification wherein the outer cylinder carries blocks of pockwood riding in recesses in the top of the inner cylinder. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
