Abstract
459,275. Facsimile printing telegraphy. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. July 20, 1936, No. 20106. Convention date, July 19, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] The individual characters are split in basic line components, and contactcontrolling discs 5, 11, 12, 19, which transmit sequences of impulses corresponding to a scanning of the basic components, are used in common for the characters having common basic components. A key L, C for each character actuates switches 9, 13, 15, 16, 18 to select contacts 10, 14, 17 actuated by those cam discs which are identified with the basic lines forming the character. The rotatable cam discs are driven on a common shaft 4. Two or more contacts 17, 141 in phase displacement may be allocated to a disc to transmit impulses corresponding to basic components which are similar but displaced in position. According to a modification, a key is identified with each basic line, and the basic lines are shown on the keyboard to facilitate the composition of the individual characters, Fig. 3 (not shown).
