Abstract
458,734. Directive wireless signalling. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. June 4, 1936, No. 15635. Convention date, June 4, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] In order to supervise the operation of a radio-navigation transmitter of the overlapping- beam type, a checking or " monitor " receiver E, Fig. 2, is located in the path of the guideline LL and gives the reguiredindication in meters J0 ... J2 located near the transmitting aerials S1, S2. The indicators show the ratio of the transmitted field-strengths at the point where the monitor E is placed. Or they may show the relative strengths of the superposed modulating notes through tuned circuits T1, T2 and rectifiers G<1>1, G<1>2. The resulting currents are passed either to two separate ammeters J1, J2, or to a single differential meter J0. The currents from the check indicator may be applied to control the transmitters S1, S2 automatically, or to facilitate manual supervision by the operator in charge of the station G.
