458,457. Filters for colour photography. BERNARDI, A., 70, St. Margarets Road, Edgware, Middlesex, and OMNICOLOR, Ltd., 220, Fulham Palace Road, London. July 2, 1935, No. 34057. Divided out of 458,427. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii)] Colour filters are prepared by pouring a solution of gelatin onto a support, allowing it to set, stripping the resulting film, hardening it, e.g. with chrome alum, and finally dipping it in a solution of dye and washing it. The depth of colour is determined by the duration of the immersion in the dye solution. The preparation of colour filters for use in the process disclosed in Specification 458,427, is described. For the blue-green filter, a mixture of toluidine blue with either aesculin or #-naphthol-disulphonic acid is used; for the red filter rhodamine B, auramine, and aesculin ; and for the amber filter either aesculin or #-naphthol disulphonic acid, with pyrazole yellow and fast red D. Specification 233,129, [Class 97 (i)], also is referred to.
