H., 21, Trevose Gardens, both in Nottingham, and COCHRANES (MIDDLESBRO') FOUNDRY, Ltd., Ormesby Ironworks, Middlesbrough-on-Tees. June 19, 1935, No. 17631. [Class 83 (i)] Lining moulds.-The trough b of a centrifugal casting-machine has a passage in which is arranged a steel tube d, with a perforated nozzle, containing a spiral conveyer c driven through speed reducing gear k by a variable speed motor i. The conveyer passes through a supply box e filled with ferro-silicon, aluminium or other powder and resiliently mounted at g on the support k. The other end of the box is vibrated by an arm l which rests on the conveyer clamping-nut l<1>, balls l<2> preferably being fitted at each angle to reduce wear. Spring wipers m, Fig. 4, are moved by the conveyer to prevent the powder from sticking to the walls el, e<2> of the box e. The mould a is moved axially during the delivery of powder and of metal. When a dump trough is used for the metal, the powder may be discharged during the positioning of the trough. Specification 442,828 is referred to.
