Abstract

456,624. Envelopes, wrappers, &c. RUSSELL, H., 23, Stanwick Road, West Kensington, London. Jan. 31, 1936, No. 3036. [Class 146 (ii)] An envelope, bag, wrapper, or the like is provided with a small hinged flap a cut from the face thereof and coated with adhesive on the back for attachment to the contents of the envelope &c., the free end of the flap being cut so as to leave a tongue e on the envelope &c., the flap and tongue being adapted to be secured together by a postage stamp or adhesive seal b which does not cover the flap, whereby on the envelope &c., being opened, the contents thereof cannot be extracted without mutilation of the body of the envelope &c. The letter or other matter is preferably first enclosed in a folded sheet of paper which is gummed together at the two edges opposite the fold, and the hinged flap a is gummed to the folder when inserted in the envelope &c. In the case of an envelope or bag, the opposed faces along a narrow margin f at the bottom are gummed together to form a false bottom to enable the envelope or bag to be gripped to the exclusion of the contents to facilitate removal of the latter.
