Abstract

455,608. Golf clubs. ROBERTSON, J. F., 19, North St. Andrew Street, Edinburgh. April 17, 1935, No. 11800. [Class 132 (ii)] A tubular golf club shaft is provided with a detachable closure member at the upper end thereof comprising a screw threaded plug 3, Fig. 1, engaging with an internal screw thread 2. The plug 3 has a cap 31 provided with a shoulder 4 abutting the top of the shaft, the cap being formed on top of the screw head as shown in Fig. 1, and made of rubber or other resilient material or the resilient cap 8 may be secured over the head of the screw as shown in Fig. 4. Caps may be made in different colours or coloured rings may be inserted between the screw top and the end of the shaft. The screw thread on the shaft may be formed by pressing and may be strengthened by longitudinal ribs 17, Figs. 2 and 3, extending the length of the threaded portion. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 194,823, [Class 123 (ii)].
